Pilot hole sizing

Pilot hole = Shank diameter x Wood factor

Softwood factor: 60% | Hardwood: 75% | Plywood: 70% | MDF: 80%

Clearance and countersink

Clearance hole = shank diameter. Countersink diameter = approximately 2x shank diameter.
