Board Layout Calculator — Optimise Sheet Cutting
Optimise part placement on sheet goods to minimise waste and cost.
How We Calculate This
This calculator determines how many identical parts can be cut from a standard sheet, accounting for saw kerf.
Layout method
Parts per sheet = (Sheet length / (Part length + Kerf)) x (Sheet width / (Part width + Kerf))
The calculator tries both orientations (0 degrees and 90 degrees) and uses the better result. Waste percentage = (Total sheet area - Used part area) / Total sheet area x 100.
