How do I measure the centre distance?

Measure from the centre of the top wheel axle to the centre of the bottom wheel axle. If both wheels are the same diameter, you can measure from the top of one wheel to the top of the other.

What if my wheels are different sizes?

If the wheels are different diameters, the formula is: Blade length = π × (R1 + R2) + 2 × centre distance, where R1 and R2 are the radii of each wheel. This calculator assumes both wheels are the same diameter.

Should I order the exact calculated length?

Band saw blades are typically sold in standard lengths or made to order. Order the calculated length — the blade manufacturer will weld it to the closest exact length. The tension adjustment on the saw compensates for small variations.
